Impact Hackathons Asia-Pacific

Tackling the SDGs through innovation in education

The Impact Hackathons Asia-Pacific project aims to spread the use of hackathons, a collaborative learning approach, develop skills of students and young entrepreneurs, and inspire practical, technical, social and institutional solutions to well-identified Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) related challenges relevant to the Asia-Pacific region.

Current project focus is on ageing, health and disabilities with future plans to expand to gender and climate change issues.

As a unique education concept complimentary to the regular university cursus, hackathons enable participants to develop innovative skills and new competencies for life and future work. To educate and prepare individuals for the process of innovating for the SDGs and the project’s focused SDG topics, international SDG Innovation Bootcamp trainings are organised.

The project is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.  Learn more about the Impact Hackathons project in an interview by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
